Sunbird House

Location

Sunbird House is located in the south Kombo, Western Division of Gambia - about 45 mins south from the airport on the coast road. It is very close to the beach in a quiet, rural area which is very green and lush. The busy village of Gunjur is a few kilometres away.

The plot
The land is approximately ¾ acre and situated only a few yards from Footsteps Ecolodge. We will be keeping as many of the mature trees and plants as possible, including the ubiquitous Cashew nut tree, and adding a few of our own once the build is completed.

The surrounding area
Women and children from Gunjur walk from the village to farm the land around Sunbird House, often carrying loads on their heads. There is a protected forest nearby and the beach is a lovely 20 minute walk away.

Local facilities
Footsteps Ecolodge is right on the doorstep and serves fantastic food with a fully stocked bar. There are a few local shops but banks and nightlife are about 45 minutes drive away.
